Our Mission/Vision
Our ambition is to dramatically transform and improve patient treatment and outcome by providing Health Care Professionals, surgeons, patients, and medical device companies with a state-of-the-art Clinical Decision and surgical simulation support system for musculoskeletal pathologies.
- We assist health care professionals, orthopedic surgeons, patients involved in the treatment of musculoskeletal pathologies to identify the optimum treatment and surgical therapeutic plan for each patient.
- We assist medical device companies with a mechanism for virtual clinical studies for testing implants and prosthetic ankles.
Our team combines engineering and 3D simulation capabilities with in-depth medical expertise provided by the co-founders and our international expert board.

Digital Orthopaedics contributes to the success of precision medicine by targeting the most efficient personally tailored clinical treatment.
We are working on the development of a surgical planning support service that will provide a reliable, prompt answer to the orthopedic surgeon based on medical imaging and patient record.


Dr.Bruno Ferré

Bruno Ferré
Dr. Bruno Ferré is a full-time orthopedic surgeon specialized in foot and ankle surgery at the Medical and Surgical Orthopedic Institute of Monaco (IM2S). He is the head of the Medical Informatics Department at IM2S. Dr. Bruno Ferré is past president (2015-2016) of the French Association of Foot Surgery (AFCP) and a board member of the French Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (SOFCOT). Dr. Bruno Ferré received his medical degree in 1978 and completed specialty training in orthopedic surgery in 1983 in Nantes. He has wide-ranging research interests that cover clinical biomechanics, foot and ankle surgery and computational modeling. Dr. Bruno Ferré has authored numerous research publications, as well as book chapters dealing with various surgical treatments of foot and ankle conditions, and he has delivered numerous invited lectures internationally.

DrThibaut Leemrijse

Thibaut Leemrijse
Dr. Thibaut Leemrijse is a full-time orthopedic surgeon, specialized in foot and ankle surgery. After graduating in June 1999, he was awarded First Prize from the European Foot and Ankle Society EFAS-EFFORT, and he won a fellowship working with several leading doctors and researchers with the same interest in foot and ankle surgery. For five years he was the head of the Department of Foot and Ankle Pathologies at CHU Bichat (Paris, France).
His position at CHU Bichat was followed by seven years as clinical professor at St Luc University Hospital (UCL, Brussel, Belgium) and head of the Diabetic Foot Unit. In 2010, he co-founded the Foot and Ankle Institute in Brussels (Belgium) and now has a team of three other surgeons and a research manager. The institute is the largest and leading healthcare facility in Belgium, with more than 12,000 patients and 1200 surgical procedures a year.
Dr. Leemrijse is a member of the Medical Training Centre in Luxembourg. In terms of research, he has been involved in the development and design of many now patented products in foot surgery. He has published various books on the pathology of the forefoot, is co-author of the Diabetic Foot , director of a textbook on foot and ankle pathologies at Elsevier Masson. He has published 28 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and has participated in the writing of more than 50 book chapters.

Paul-André Deleu

Paul-André Deleu
Paul-André Deleu is a podiatrist and works as a clinical scientist at the Foot and Ankle Institute in Brussels (Belgium). He initiates, coordinates and supervises research on foot and ankle pathologies. His research interests are focused on foot and ankle surgery, foot orthoses, foot and ankle biomechanics and therapeutic footwear. He has authored numerous research publications, as well as book chapters covering various foot and ankle conditions, and delivered a number of lectures internationally. He is an active member of the International Society of Biomechanics and of the International Foot and Ankle Biomechanics Community.
Paul-André is an invited lecturer at the Parnasse-Isei School of Podiatry in Brussels (Belgium) and continues to teach a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for both allied health professionals and medical students at different universities.

Guillaume de Viron

Guillaume de Viron
Under his belt, Guillaume has six years of process optimisation experience at Deloitte Consulting and ten years as CFO for different start-ups in the biotech industry (Artelis, Kitozyme, Masthercell, Univercells, OncoDNA,…).
He is also the founder of Belean.net, a shared service to master the growth of start-ups.

Federica Giuliani

Federica Giuliani
Federica Giuliani holds a Master’s degree in Biomechanical Engineering, focused on biomechanics, obtained at the Polytechnic of Turin (Turin, Italy, 2012 – 2017). She also took part in an Erasmus + Course program at the Universitat de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain, 2016 – 2017). She carried out her Master`s thesis at the BEAMS Department of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB, Brussels, 2016 – 2017): using finite element analysis, she focused on the effects of deviations from an optimal alignment in a total knee prosthetic implant. During her university studies she worked as an intern at the Fornaca Clinic (Turin, Italy, 2015), and after graduation she worked for some months for SEA Vision srl (Pavia, Italy, 2018).

Sheng-Yi Ye

Sheng-Yi Ye
Sheng-Yi obtained his Master degree in Electromechanical Engineering at the Ecole Polytechnique de Louvain (Université Catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium 2011-2016) and showed an high interest in Multibody Simulation. Moreover, he recently defended his Master Thesis on Railway Vehicles Multibody Simulations in order to speed up their nominal speed. Since he is interested in medical applications, he also oriented his education in that way. As such, he had the opportunity to work with the University Clinics (Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc, Brussels, Belgium 2016-2017) on a knee’s kinematics measurement device and a skin thermal Finite Element Model.

Andrea Stenti

Andrea Stenti
Andrea holds a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, Italy) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium). He has ten years’ experience in the automotive industry as an acoustic and vibration simulation expert and project manager (Robert Bosch Produktie N.V. Tienen, Belgium; Robert Bosch GmbH, Bühlertal, Germany).
Andrea is specialized in developing models for product optimization and risk assessment, focusing on the structural dynamic simulation of complex assemblies involving severe non-linearities: material, geometrical and contact related.

Ang-Xiao Fan

Ang-Xiao Fan
Ang-Xiao Fan, Finite Element Engineer, PhD
Ang-Xiao obtained her engineer diploma (Diplôme d’Ingénieur) in Mechanical Engineering and Development (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, France) in 2013. Interested in application of mechanical methodology in solutions to biomedical problems, especially finite element method (FEM) via numeric modeling & simulation, she worked in parallel in her last year to receive a master degree in biomechanics. Continuing down this road, she gained a PhD degree with the dissertation on “geometrical and numeric modeling of facial mimics using FEM via MRI” in biomechanical engineering (Université de Technologie de Compiègne, France) in 2016.
Ang-Xiao joined Digital Orthopaedics as finite element engineer to contribute to the research and development of surgical simulation platform.

Yolande Aglave

Yolande Aglave
Yolande holds a complementary Master’s degree in Labour Sciences (Université Catholique, Louvain-La-Neuve). Before that, she obtained a degree in Marketing. She also obtained other degrees (Business analyst, Communication…).
She has supported several start-ups in the administrative implemention of the operations (HR, sales, legal, IT, …) and organizational processes.

Elisa Bigaré

Elisa Bigaré
Elisa is a physiotherapist and holds a Master’s degree in Public Health (ULB, Belgium).
She has been working for nearly 10 years in hospital and pharmaceutical environments, as coordinator of locomotor system allografts at the University Tissue Bank of St Luc Hospital (UCL, Belgium) and as Clinical Research Associate/ Clinical Study Manager in the development of stem cell therapy.
Elisa joined Digital Orthopaedics in June 2017 as Clinical Knowledge Base Manager to support the development of the CDSS and conduct CDSS-specific clinical trials.

Benjamin Blampain

Benjamin Blampain
Benjamin has been immersed in technology since the age of six and his first Apple II. It is therefore quite natural that Benjamin studied Computer Science in Namur and began working at Franco Dragone. In 2007, he created his first web development company with twelve people.
Passionate about technology, a perfectionist and a UX design lover, Benjamin helps companies define and manage their IT projects on a daily basis: specifications, optimization of internal processes using IT tools, information architecture, design and ergonomics.
He has also under his belt a Lead Implementer ISO27001 certification and helps also companies in their willing of ISO27001 certification.
